This Gentleman is a brilliant nurse and ambassador for the NHS. Today he carried out a prostate biopsy on me and I have never been so well looked after by both he and his other nursing colleagues. Richard is the kindest of people you could hope to be looking after you, and the way he treats and talks to his patients and assisting nurses is second to none.
I went in for my biopsy with dread, and after he talked me through what was going to be done, I felt much more at ease. He explained everything that would happen and what would the results would mean. During the biopsy, he and his assistants were the most reassuring people I have ever met. Their care and understanding are fantastic.
Thank you Richard and Thank you WGH for putting me under his care.
Richard performed a prostate biopsy on me at Furness General Hospital and how lucky was I that he was the clinician who saw me. Richard is a true professional in every sense - he explained fully what the procedure entailed and put any fears I had to rest with his honest explanation and easy manner. He has an excellent 'bedside manner' and is very easy to talk to and is very understanding of a patient's concerns and worries. During the biopsy, he talked to me and kept me informed at every stage. Following the procedure, he explained how I would most likely feel and how to deal with any after-effects of this invasive procedure. Despite my initial apprehension, I felt totally at ease in Richard's capable hands. What I also liked about Richard, was the kind and positive way he spoke to the nurses assisting him and they all worked well as a team. Richard is definitely an asset to the NHS. Thank you.
Richard is polite, very caring, and listened
